Mental health affects us all, and its ripple effects in the workplace are enormous. Poor mental health fuels disengagement, absenteeism, turnover, and low morale — carrying a staggering $20+ billion price tag for Canadian employers. Yet despite the impact, too many employees and leaders remain hesitant to talk about it. Fear of saying the wrong thing, uncertainty about boundaries, and the assumption that “this is HR’s problem” often leave people silent.

This keynote breaks down those barriers. Talking about mental health doesn’t have to be awkward or overwhelming — and you don’t need to become a therapist to make a difference. Elizabeth gives audience members the tools and confidence to check in, offer support appropriately, and know when to connect someone with additional help. By normalizing the conversation, setting healthy boundaries, and “staying in your lane,” participants will feel empowered to play a role in building a caring, supportive workplace culture where mental health is addressed openly and respectfully.
