Delivery Options: In person or virtual

Ideal Audience: Supervisors, managers, emerging/new leaders; organizational leaders at all levels
Have you ever walked out of a conversation thinking it went brilliantly, only to discover the other person experienced it very differently? That gap between intention and impact is where emotional intelligence becomes one of a leader’s greatest advantages.
Emotional intelligence isn’t about being endlessly calm, agreeable or “good with people.” It is about understanding what is happening within us, recognizing what may be happening for someone else and choosing how we respond. The more aware leaders become of their own emotions, patterns and impact, the better equipped they are to build trust, navigate challenges and create relationships where people can do their best work.
This interactive workshop begins with the leader in the mirror. Participants will explore their values, triggers, strengths and blind spots, along with the ripple effect their energy and behaviour can have on a team. They’ll practise ways to manage defensiveness, stay grounded under pressure and respond with intention when emotions run high.
We’ll also turn our attention outward. Today’s teams bring together people with different personalities, experiences, communication styles and generational perspectives. Rather than relying on assumptions or treating everyone exactly the same, emotionally intelligent leaders get curious, read the room and adapt their approach while remaining authentic.
Through self-reflection, hands-on activities and realistic leadership scenarios, participants will put emotional intelligence to work in feedback, conflict and everyday communication. They’ll leave with sharper self-awareness, practical strategies for strengthening relationships and clear commitments for increasing their positive impact as a leader.
