Staying Connected: Supporting Mental Wellness in Hybrid and Remote Teams

6.png

When teams work apart, we must work harder to keep people connected, supported and well.

  • Duration: 90 minutes

  • Delivery Options: In person... or virtual (of course!)

  • Ideal Audience: Leaders, supervisors, HR professionals and teams operating in hybrid or remote environments

Hybrid and remote work arrangements have opened the door to new levels of flexibility and productivity — but they also come with challenges that can quietly erode mental health and workplace culture. Feelings of isolation, blurred boundaries between work and personal life, and a lack of casual day-to-day interactions can leave employees feeling disconnected and disengaged. Without intentional effort, teams risk losing the sense of belonging and trust that drives performance and well-being.

This session explores how organizations can support mental wellness and strengthen connection in hybrid and remote teams. Participants will examine the psychological and relational impacts of working apart, from communication breakdowns to “Zoom fatigue,” and learn how to create structures that foster collaboration, belonging, and psychological safety. We’ll also look at the added difficulty of recognizing when someone may be struggling with their mental well-being in a remote setting — when the usual non-verbal cues of body language aren’t available — and how leaders can still respond with confidence and care.

Far from being just an HR concern, staying connected in dispersed teams is a leadership imperative. Through practical tools and strategies, this session equips participants to proactively address the challenges of hybrid and remote work. Leaders and employees alike will leave with actionable ways to maintain strong relationships, boost engagement, and create a culture of care that transcends physical distance.
