Supercharge Your Supervisors: Mental Health Essentials for Team Leads

11.png

There's a recognized training gap for supervisors in "people skills"; give your front line leads the tools to lead with confidence, care and impact.

  • Duration: 90 minutes

  • Delivery Options: In person or virtual

  • Ideal Audience: New, experienced and emerging supervisors, frontline managers and team leads

Supervisors play a vital role in every organization. They’re often promoted because they excel in technical skills, know the job inside out, and can keep operations moving smoothly. But supervising people is about far more than managing tasks. Outstanding supervisors understand that their role goes beyond what’s written in their job description: they inspire, motivate, and help shape the culture of their teams.

This session is designed to fill a critical gap in supervisor training, especially for those new to leadership. While senior leaders and HR often receive structured training, supervisors are left to figure things out on their own — despite being the ones closest to employees day-to-day. From influencing recruitment and retention to shaping team morale, setting safety expectations, and supporting mental well-being, supervisors have enormous influence on workplace culture.

Participants will gain practical tools to navigate the “people side” of supervision, including how to have tough but necessary conversations, support employees experiencing challenges, and create an environment where psychological health and safety are valued. Through real-world examples and interactive discussion, supervisors will leave with confidence, clarity, and a toolkit for leading teams in a way that supports both people and performance.

Key Learning Outcomes for Participants:

  • Understand the unique role supervisors play in shaping workplace culture and well-being.

  • Learn practical strategies to address challenges with retention, morale, and safety.

  • Gain tools to have difficult conversations with clarity, empathy, and confidence.

  • Recognize how supervisors influence health and safety, including mental wellness.

  • Build confidence to lead beyond tasks, inspiring teams and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
